Tallest Sunflower Competition 2021

In Spring 2021, every resident was given 5 sunflower seeds from our churches. In October, prizes were awarded to the tallest.

First Prize: Jacqui Peet from Kelham at 241cm (94.9 inches). Jacqui’s winning entry is on the front cover but since then the plant has grown to 252cm (99.2 inches) and has flowered!
Second Prize: Janina Sulek from Averham at 213cm (83.9 inches).
Third Prize: Shaun McLaughlin from Averham at 187cm (73.6 inches).

A big thanks to all that took part and grew sunflowers, there were some super specimens.
Prizes were awarded during Harvest Festival at St Michael and All Angels, Averham  on 30th September.
