Donations

The Parish Council occasionally receives requests for financial support from different organisations. We are always keen to encourage and support activities and projects which primarily serve the interests of, or are for the benefit of people living in Bearpark. We have a policy in place to ensure that all of our award-making activity is open, transparent, fair and competitive.

The Council will only consider applications for grants and donations from organisations and groups which are based within the Parish, or who can demonstrate that the donation will substantially benefit residents of Bearpark.

There are some things we are not allowed to fund, such as:

  • individuals requesting funding for personal benefit (this includes sponsorship for charitable purposes, travel grants and educational purposes);
  • political groups;
  • church groups requesting funding for activities of benefit to members only or to promote religious activities (applications for church repairs are eligible);
  • organisations not registered as charities or not considered not for profit;
  • national organisations except where it can be demonstrated that the donation will substantially benefit residents of the Bearpark;
  • purposes that are the responsibility of other statutory agencies;
  • projects that improve or benefit privately owned land or property
