Life saving defibrillators installed in Bearpark
Bearpark Parish Council
The accessible device is on the wall at Bearpark Methodist Chapel ready to help anyone who suffers a heart attack.
Children and families raised the money at sports day last year to purchase two devices. One has also been installed at the primary school and the other was gifted to the village.
Chair of the Parish Council and School Governor, Cllr Marion Wilson said: “the fundraising efforts by children and families has enabled the purchase of this life saving equipment. I am grateful to the parish council who agreed to pay for the installation of the defibrillator and to the Methodist Chapel for allowing permission to have the defibrillator installed on their building. The parish council will be arranging training for those wishing to learn how to use the equipment.
For every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone and deliver a shock, their chances of survival lower.
