BEDS VPs MATCH REPORT FEBRUARY 26th 2026

BEDS VPs (79) MATCH REPORT FEBRUARY 26th 2026
Sunday 26th February 2026 the Bedfordshire VPs made their way to play a 6 x triples match
against Luton I.B.C.i. initially we were very fortunate to have over 30 nominees wishing to play this
fixture but as we have experienced before players were withdrawing for one reason or another.
Our captain of the day Fiona Mowe contacted Luton I.B.C. and they kindly loaned us a player
which saved the day.
As we thought Luton produced a very strong competitive team and won the game quite
handsomely with the score being 67-110. Well done to them on their fine win.
Two of our triples came very close to winning only to fall at the last hurdle so our only success
was the triple of John Blyth, Melanie Andrews and at the sharp end Sue Glennon who managed to
get a hard fought draw 12-12. Congratulations go to them.
Disappointing result but an afternoon to be enjoyed.
This was a special day for two new members namely Elaine and Doug King playing their first
game for us who received a small memento to mark this occasion. We hope they enjoyed their
baptism of fire and i feel sure they will play many more games for us in the future.
Tea and biscuits was provided when the game was over which was most welcomed and enjoyed
by all.
