BEDS VPs (67) MATCH REPORT JULY 31st 2025 Thursday 31st July the Bedfordshire VPs made there way to Langford B.C. and it turned out to be a really enjoyable afternoon. The hospitality and friendship was second to none. We arrived with 19 players and it was decided to play 4 rinks and i triple, however there was a slight hiccup at the start as one of our players was late to arrive. Suggestions were made to have a whip round for a new sat-nav or even a new watch which created plenty of laughs. So as to get the game underway Melanie Andrews kindly stepped in until our player arrived. Thanks Melanie. After a hard fought match we finally lost by a score of 70-83. At the halfway mark it was 33-39. However we did have 3 winning rinks which was very encouraging indeed. The highest winning rink was majestically skipped y Helen Donkin and ably assisted by Peter Glennon, Kim Douglas and Sue Glennon. This was rather amusing as Helen did not particularly want to skip but after a little persuasion from her number 3 she decided she would do it and what a fine job she did. What a great decision. We welcomed 2 new members namely Kim Douglas and Geoff Conquest and i must say they both had excellent games and hope this trend continues in their forthcoming matches. A small memento was given to them both to mark the occasion. When the game was over we had a real treat in store for us being a superb BBQ (if you like them) with salad and to end it all it was followed by a welcoming choc ice. This is one fixture that is certainly not to be missed.
