BEDS VPs (74) MATCH REPORT DEC 7th 2025

BEDS VPs  MATCH REPORT DECEMBER 7th 2025

The final indoor fixture for 2025 took place on December 7th with the venue being Riverain I.B.C. and again our opponents were Letchworth & District B.A. (we played them a few weeks ago) and going on past experience we know they always put out a strong team so we had to be on our top form.. On this occasion both Associations provided a full compliment of players so the format was 6 rinks. The first half of the game Letchworth forged ahead with the score being 28-57 alas as the game progressed they increased the deficit to 73-113 and ran out worthy winners. Our congratulations go to them. Disappointing yes but still it was a most enjoyable afternoon with very good company. We did manage to have a highest winning rink (the only one) being Peter Glennon, Rob Leonard, Dave Jones and skilfully skipped by Jeff Inseal. Well done to them all. The meal provided afterwards was a superb pork chop coupled with fresh vegetables followed by a sultana and ginger pudding. Very nice indeed. After the speeches again we were entertained by Will Martin (Match Secretary of Letchworth & District B.A) who started fining players for various misdemeanours which occurred during the game. This proved to be highly humorous and very well supported it also raised plenty of laughs. The chosen charity was the Royal Heart Foundation so the money raised was certainly going to a very good cause. It was thoroughly memorable afternoon and we always look forward to meeting them again.
