🌷🌻 BEST KEPT VILLAGE 2026 🌻🌷

Over the coming months we’ll be highlighting community activities, wellbeing initiatives, environmental projects, and ways you can get involved.  Two of our Councillors have already got us off to a great start by replanting the village planters for a glorious summer display. PICTURE

  • 🌟Did the Cleaning Fairies Visit Bicton This Week?

If you woke up over the last couple of nights and thought, “Goodness, the cleaning fairies have been busy!” — we’re here to gently reveal the truth.

It wasn’t magic.
It wasn’t fairies.
It was something even better…

✨ A dedicated team of Bicton volunteers who have been out quietly, cheerfully, and tirelessly tidying, trimming, sweeping and sprucing up our parish in preparation for the Best Kept Village Competition.

With ongoing cutbacks at Shropshire Council, this small band of community heros has taken on even more — and what a job they’ve done. The village is looking fantastic thanks to their hard work, good humour, and willingness to muck in.

But here’s the thing…
They can’t do it alone.

💚 How You Can Help

Whether you’ve got ten minutes or a whole morning, every little bit makes a difference.

Formal volunteering

Drop us an email at clerk@bictonparishcouncil.gov.uk and we’ll let you know the date of the next community volunteering session.

Or join us on Tuesday 9th June 7.00pm at Bicton Village Hall for a chat on how you can help.

Informal helping hands

Simply keeping the area outside your home neat and tidy is a huge help — and it all adds up to a village we can be proud of.

📸 See Our Wonderful Team in Action

Take a look at the photos below to see the brilliant work our volunteers have been doing.

  • Judging Day - 9th June 2026 - we need you help this weekend
  • Community Meeting - BKVC - see here for detail
  • Children from Bicton Primary School & Nursery have been busy designed posters and putting           them up around the village, as well as litter picking the village last Friday - a big thank you for all           those involved. (see the picture gallery below).
  • 🌼 Bicton has entered the Best Kept Village 2026!

We are excited to announce that Bicton is officially taking part in the Best Kept Village Competition                2026 — a brilliant opportunity to celebrate our green spaces, community spirit, and the pride we all share                in our village.

From our beautiful footpaths and thriving wildlife areas to the fantastic work of local volunteers, clubs,                      and  residents, Bicton has  so much to showcase. BKVC is all about community effort, and every small                action helps — whether it’s tending a front  garden, joining a litter pick, supporting local groups, or simply                taking pride in the place we call home.

Let’s show the judges what makes Bicton special.

Together, we can make Bicton shine in 2026. 🌿✨

Bicton Community Priorities Survey – Thank You, Bicton!

A big thank you to the residents who took the time to complete the Bicton Community Priorities Survey.

Your feedback gives the Parish Council a clear picture of what matters most to our community, and it will help guide the decisions we make over the coming months.

The survey is now closed, but you can still take a look at the results and see what your neighbours had to say.

Thanks again for helping shape the future of our village — one tick-box at a time.
