From Kenya to the Commonwealth Games. (via Bilton Bowls Club)

Bilton Bowls Club was delighted to welcome members of the Kenyan national bowls team on Friday evening as part of their preparations for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Kenyan delegation is spending a few days in the area before travelling on to Scotland. Their visit to Bilton gave the players a valuable opportunity to practise on the bowls mat and become more familiar with the playing conditions they are likely to experience during the Games. The team approached the session with great enthusiasm and clearly appreciated the opportunity for some additional practice.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for Bilton members to meet the players, learn a little more about bowls in Kenya and share their mutual enjoyment of the sport. The evening was conducted in a warm and friendly spirit, with the visitors receiving a very warm welcome from everyone at the club.

The visit provided a memorable evening for both the Kenyan team and Bilton Bowls Club. We were very pleased to play a small part in their preparations and wish every member of the team the very best of luck when they represent Kenya in Glasgow.
