Opening match of the 2026 season was played on Sunday 18th.

On a beautiful sunny afternoon 32 players enjoyed mixed fortunes in a friendly club match. It was also good to see some spectators.

The match was followed by a shared tea. What a spread. I'd be amazed If anyone went home hungry.

The overall result was a win for the men's captains team.

Entertainment was provided by Martin Sandwell, Richard Stocking and Norman Cleaton, who all received "Wrong Bias" Certificates.

Thanks go to Derek and his team for getting the greens ready, Rosina & Garry for organising the teams.Steve & Ann for the bar. Jen & Chris for setting out the spread and of course all who provided food and helped to clear up afterwards.

Great day. Let's do it again next year
