Easy walk along quiet country roads and bridle ways/field paths. No stiles

Tuesday 30th April

Swainby

Back lane car park for 10am depart

Location - between Pickhill and Maunby about 12 miles North of Boroughbridge

Little known area includes earthworks of ancient religious community (Swainby Abbey) and crossing railway bridge over River Swale.

The walk area is an easy flat 5 miles, mostly hard underfoot.

Fountains Abbey / Markenfield Hall circular

Back lane car park for 10am depart

The west door car park was being repaired, so park up the hill off the road signed Markington, Harrogate. That is where the walk starts. Two stiles, a little muddy in places.
