c.4.7 miles with 6 stiles of varying difficulty. Pleasant walk taking in Galphay etc

Thursday 20th August

Ripon to Boroughbridge

Ripon to Roecliffe along canal & River Ure, then to Boroughbridge.

Outbound transport: No:82 bus to Ripon [outside Plenty Cafe] - Depart time 9:45

NB Bus may be later than 9.45 arriving from York – bus passes valid after 9.00 am

Distances:

· 5 miles - Ripon to Roecliffe - some cars parked at Roecliffe providing limited car availability to Boroughbridge. For those who don't want to do the full walk.

· 6.8 or 7.3 miles walking Ripon to Boroughbridge - two routes - noisy v quiet

Apologies:

Original plan was first 1.8m via canal boat [12 people @ £3.50 each] However, 3 locks no longer operational, i.e. closure due to water shortages.
