Heating oil - Financial Support
Support for North Northamptonshire Residents
Below is an update to the orginal information given to the clerk
Please see below for an important update regarding Heating Oil Support available to residents across North Northamptonshire.
As part of the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), North Northamptonshire Council has received funding to support households affected by rising heating oil costs, particularly in rural and off-grid communities.
Emergency support is available for North Northamptonshire residents who:
- Use heating oil as their main or only heating source
- Are not connected to mains gas
- Are at risk of running out of heating oil
- Cannot afford the minimum cost of an oil delivery
Please note: This scheme is not intended for everyday or planned purchases. It is for emergency situations only, where low oil levels and the cost of a delivery would put a household’s health, safety, or basic living conditions at risk.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, residents must:
- Live in North Northamptonshire
- Use heating oil as their main source of heating and hot water
- Not be connected to the mains gas network
- Have an oil tank level at 30% or less
- Be unable to afford the minimum delivery (typically 300–500 litres)
- Have household savings below:
- £1,500 (most households), or
- £6,000 (if aged 66 or over)
What support is available
- Eligible applicants will receive a £150 prepaid card towards heating oil costs

- Payment must be made by telephone, allowing residents to combine the voucher with their own payment
