Updated all day disabled bus passes are being issued to disabled pass holders. They will look like the picture clearly labelled ‘All day local’.

This allows travel within the East Sussex County Council boundaries all day every day of the week without the normal scheme time limits. A leaflet was sent explaining the details to the bus pass holders.

Bus operators have been made aware and have configured their machines to accept these passes at these times. [Note that using a pass outside accepted times does not record the journey – either for reimbursement to bus operators or for passenger numbers]. The Transport Hub Public Services team have also stopped the cancellations from going to the readers for two weeks to try and ensure delivery can be made, there will still be issues with people moving and passes not renewing yet. Hopefully this will be on a small scale.

This change will mean that the disabled person’s bus pass is more attractive for those eligible and supports disabled people to access work and education, a positive step for East Sussex.
