Clacton on Sea Bowling Club is now open for the 2023 bowling season. It will be open during weekdays 12pm till dusk and weekends 10am till dusk. Please keep an eye on the social events board in the clubhouse and the website for the social activities that are going on throughout the summer months.
For those who are new to bowling or would like to join our club as bowlers, there will be open days on Saturday and Sunday 29th and 30th April 2023, 10am till 4pm when you will have the opportunity to come and try the sport of lawn bowling. The Club was formed in 1922 and we are looking forward to our Centenary in 2022.
Clacton on Sea Bowling Club is a friendly club for people of all ages who are interested in playing flat green bowls, making friends, staying fit and improving wellbeing.
The club is non profit making and all of its activities are arranged by a committee formed from members.
The Outdoor Bowling Club is situated adjacent to the sea front and beach.We are fortunate to have a Toby Carvery facing the beach, approximately 80 yards from the Bowling club, plus the Greensward Cafe opposite, both serving hot and cold food. We are within walking distance of the town and Clacton pier, where you can buy the traditional seaside fish and chips, candy floss etc.
We have 2 greens each with 6 rinks plus a spacious, well-appointed licensed clubhouse and a large car park. Alternatively there is free parking in the streets adjacent to the club plus a coach car park 100 metres away.
The comfortable lounge has a well-stocked bar with a Club Steward on duty. Bar is open during normal licencing hours.
Our excellent facilities include a fully fitted kitchen, ladies and gents changing rooms and toilets plus a separate external toilet for the disabled with wheelchair access .This makes Clacton Outdoor Bowls Club one of the most sought after clubs in the county.
During the winter there is a full programme of activities that includes social events, carpet bowls, cribbage, canasta, darts, table tennis and bingo.
