Drivers needed!

As you might already know Kent coast volunteering runs the community transport service in your three districts, we have a team of volunteers who use their own cars and freely give up their time to take elderly and disabled people to appointments, mainly medical at the moment but we also take members to day centres, shopping, clubs, hairdressers ect if we can, at the moment this is very difficult.

As the NHS is now opening up again and trying its best to clear the backlog build up during the pandemic more and more people are asking to join the service, prior to the pandemic we had 113 active drivers, today we have 68, as you can imagine this is making our service increasingly difficult to manage.

We are always trying to recruit more drivers, our transport service along with all the others in the UK plays an important role in social care by allowing our members to maintain their independence for longer by being able to get to where they need or want to go.
