    On Wednesday 5th July a public consultation on plans to modernise customer service across the rail network was launched by the industry. The consultation was due to close today, Wednesday 26th July. Following feedback and further industry discussions, the decision has been made to extend this consultation period by an addition five and a half weeks until Friday 1st September 2023.

    This will allow independent passenger watchdogs Transport Focus and London TravelWatch more time to facilitate the consultation and will ensure that as an industry, we are giving everybody the opportunity to have their say.

    Additionally, EMR have published an overarching Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA). An EQIA focusses on assessing and recording the potential impacts of an activity or policy on people with characteristics protected under the Equality Act 2010.
