Childrens Author visits John Blow School

On 25th September 2018, children's author Hilary Robinson visited John Blow School.  Each class was visited and all the children received a copy of her book "Where The Poppies Now Grow".

A full set of the books presented to the school and another set were presented to the preschool.

Emails of thanks received from Parents at the school

"well done to all involved, and wonderful for the children at school!"

"My daughter has received a book from John Blow this week and she was very proud and we as a family enjoyed reading it"

"My son is in Year Three at John Blow and excitedly came home with his book gifted by the Parish Council to commentate the centenary of the end of World War one.  I just wanted to say thank you, pass on my son’s delight and that I think it was a lovely thing to do for the children."

"Thanks for the where the poppies now grow book, my girls were thrilled with their books and enjoyed the visitors talk too. V barely had her coat off and was reading it"

The visit was followed up with a request for the children to write a book review, which would be included in the display at Collingham Library
