Neighbourhood Plans provide a significant opportunity for local communities to influence and guide planning decisions. Once the Plan is formally agreed (or 'Made' in planning terminology) it has legal standing alongside the Wiltshire Local Plan and planning applications are determined in accordance with the Plan.

The Coombe Bissett and Homington Neighbourhood Plan has been produced by local residents for the benefit of the whole Parish, for the present and in the future. The Plan has been developed on behalf of the Coombe Bissett Parish Council by the Coombe Bissett and Homington Neighbourhood Plan (CB&HNP) Steering Group.

The Coombe Bissett and Homington Neighbourhood Plan (CB&HNP, the Plan) is the product of extensive input from the community, careful analysis of local issues and detailed liaison with Wiltshire Council and other stakeholders that have responsibilities for, or an interest in the development and future of our Parish.

Development of the CB&HNP has been driven by a strong evidence-led approach based on extensive research and analysis. This research has been distilled into a number of subject Topic Papers and other supporting documents, that set out the rationale and evidence for the policies in the Plan.

The Plan aims to conserve and enhance our rich heritage and thriving community, whilst at the same time ensuring that development to sustain the future health of our community takes place in a way that reflects the Parish's distinctive character.
