Parish Council Elections
Culmington Parish Council
On the 1st May this year there will be Parish Council elections. This is an opportunity to elect who you would like to have as your parish councillors for the next four years. The council meets every month except August and December at Culmington Village Hall to decide on matters that are of benefit to the parish of Culmington such as
- considering planning applications and tree preservation orders
- reporting problems with highways and drainage, footpaths and bridleways
- managing the vehicle activated signs
- liaising with West Mercia’s Police Safer Neighbourhood Team
- managing the environmental maintenance contractor
- raising issues with the Shropshire Councillor for Corvedale Ward
This year some of the councillors are retiring so there will be some spaces for new councillors. If you are interested in becoming a councillor please contact Heather Coonick the Clerk to the Council, who will be able to assist you with understanding the role and standing at the election. Nominations need to be completed by April so if you are interested in becoming a councillor don’t leave it too late.
