Coronavirus COVID-19 update

Please see the following update below from Public Health England.

  • The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has confirmed that as of 9am 9 March 2020 a total of 24,960 people have been tested in the UK, of which 24,641 negative and 319 positive. Four patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.
    DHSC will publish updated data on this page on a daily basis at 2pm until further notice including a breakdown of cases by NHS region.
    A more detailed breakdown of cases by upper tier local authority will be published on this page, one day in arrears at around 3pm, until further notice.

Yesterday, the CMO confirmed a third patient in England who tested positive for coronavirus has died and today he announced the death of a fourth patient.

DfE has set up a helpline offering guidance for anyone with education related questions.
