EBCS Changes 1 Oct 2026

Exciting Updates for EBCA Coaches

Subject: Get ready for the EBCS website, training and membership changes from 1 October 2026

IMPORTANT: From 1 October 2026, all qualified EBCS coaches must register individually through the new
EBCS website and pay the £10 fee. Previous membership will not transfer, and the new membership will
run until January 2028. Once registered, coaches can manage their details, qualifications and renewals,
download certificates and identification, and—where eligible—appear in the public “Find a Coach” directory.

Training programme: EBCS is preparing the national programme and will release Level 1 and Level 2
manuals once enough trainers and assessors are ready. Bowlers can register for training from 1 October,
with trainers allocated as they become available. Level 2 and Level 3 members can also register their
interest in becoming trainers or assessors, and /or apply as Area Coaches.

The EBCS Coaching Directors are developing training aids, manuals, PowerPoint presentations and
videos to support trainers, assessors and currently qualified coaches. These resources will be available to
all members upon registration. Locally, the EBCA Coaching Team will continue to organise and run
roadshows and courses across Essex, including EBCS Levels 1 and 2.

Membership payments: Getting set up is straightforward: cancel any existing standing order and pay
during individual online registration. Direct debits and club bulk payments will no longer be accepted. If you
have already paid, simply select the relevant registration option for verification. Any club reimbursement
should be arranged separately with the club.

Going digital: EBCS is planning to become largely paperless. Relevant manuals and documents will be
available for members to download and print, so please make sure you have access to a printer. The only
items currently planned for postal delivery are DBS forms and merchandise.

Coach actions: To prepare for the transition, check that your contact details, membership status,
qualifications, CPD, DBS and safeguarding records are current. Once your own information is complete,
please support colleagues who may need help using the new platform.

EBCA: All Essex Coaches - Stay connected and make the most of everything Essex Bowls Coaching Association (EBCA) has
to offer! Keep your free membership current by completing your details when requested, so you can enjoy
our roadshows, courses and coaching updates. EBCA will be here to support you throughout the transition.
We’re also excited to be releasing our winter coaching plan shortly—please look out for it!

More to look forward to: The first 500 registered members can buy an EBCS top for just £20 including postage until 1 January 2027; after that, the price will be £28. Remember to order two sizes above your usual UK top size. An AGM is planned for March or April 2027, with further details to follow.

Together, we can make this transition a real success. By staying informed, keeping our details current
and supporting one another, we can build an even stronger coaching community and create more
opportunities for bowlers across Essex.

Visit both the new EBCS website and our EBCA website regularly for the latest news, coaching updates and opportunities!
