If you are 18 years or older and interested in gaining a deeper understanding of daily policing activities in your local area, our Public Observation Scheme would be perfect for you. This program gives you the opportunity to observe and engage with various aspects of policing, aimed at enhancing community engagement and feedback.

You can choose from a range of activities to participate in, including;

Foot patrol – Walk and talk with a member of the Neighbourhood Policing Team to discuss areas of concern specifically aimed at women and girls.
Control room – Experience what it’s like in our contact centre from the moment a 999 call comes in.
Mobile patrol – being on patrol in a police vehicle responding to calls, observing how incidents and activities such as arrests, traffic stops and stop searches are managed, also witnessing how victims are supported.
