President's Match
Each season, the League President holds a friendly match, known as the 'President's Match', typically at the President's home green.
The host club provides the 'home' side's rinks, and in 2026 the President's 'away' side consists of a mixed triples rink from each of the eight other G&F clubs - to provide 8 'away' rinks / 24 'away' players.
'Away' Rinks from clubs with a home 'all-weather surface' green will play on Gosport's 'all-weather surface' green, with other clubs' teams to play on Gosport's grass green.
The format in 2026 is 18-ends of mixed triples (each triple to contain at least one player of each gender), under the G&F common dress code with 'President's away side variation' under which all members of each ‘away’ rink from the same club are to wear matching club attire. Start time is 13:30 for 14:00, with refreshment to follow the match, and with an anticipated event end time of 18:00.
Refreshment is provided as usual as part of this event, with a contribution of £5 per player as a match/entry fee. This fee of £15 per rink is payable with a club's entry, via the below forms. The closing date for return of entry form and payment is close-of-business Monday 29 June 2026.
