Contemplation Garden Summer Update
June 2026
What is the Contemplation Garden?
The Contemplation Garden is next to St Giles’ Church. It is managed sustainably in harmony with nature. Volunteers maintain several distinct habitats: hedge, scrub, log piles, stone piles and meadow. Consequently the area around the church now supports more than 200 native species.
Events coming up in the Garden
On Tuesday 21 July anyone in the village is invited to come along to our Moth Hunt at 9.00am. This will be an opportunity to observe and identify species gathered using non-harming specialist light-trap equipment the night before. Look out for more information nearer the time.
Who maintains the Garden?
Anne Hamling, Lindsay O’Kelly, Mat Dempsey and Jacqueline Pumphrey are currently looking after the Garden. If you have any questions about it or would like to get involved, please contact Anne Hamling, anne.hamling21@gmail.com
