Greyhound Rescue Shropshire & Borders

About Us

Greyhound Rescue Shropshire and Borders (GRSB) was formed in 2006 by an enthusiastic band of volunteers who were concerned about the plight of sighthounds. Although once based at Moorlands Kennels, the group has now moved away and continues today with volunteers old and new but our aims and concerns are the same.  We are affiliated to the Retired Greyhound Trust  and the majority of our dogs are ex-racing greyhounds.

We re-home hounds all over Shropshire, into the Welsh border regions and South Cheshire, although we will consider home offers from other areas.

Greyhounds make great pets and we work hard to match the right home with the right dog.  We consider each case individually whether you work or are retired, single or with a family.  Our mission is to help these wonderful dogs find suitable homes, we provide support and back up during the life of the dog while promoting their image as great companions.

Please have a look at our hounds for adoption on their individual pages under the "Dogs for adoption" tab above.

As most of our hounds are in foster homes we ask that you contact us initially by email or phone. One of our Homing Team will call for a chat and can then arrange for you to meet the hounds.

You can also meet our hounds and volunteers at one of our Events. We are a friendly bunch always ready to talk about our dogs. You can help us in a variety of ways by donating, volunteering or fostering if you can’t re -home a hound.
