Emma

We have this lovely little girl, Emma, with us looking for her new home.

Emma is very pretty and quite small for a greyhound. She is English bred, her registered name is Ping Out Emily,   but she has never raced. She is 4 1/2 years old (DOB 23/07/2019) and has spent most of her life in racing kennels living with 2 of her sisters. She is very lively but loves fuss and attention. She loves a run and bouncing around you in the paddock. You can't help but smile and laugh at her. 

She walks nicely on the lead and settles down calmly once you are out. Travels well in the car and doesn’t have much of a prey drive and is happiest ignoring other dogs. She doesn't like other dogs to approach her too quickly and can take a dislike to them, growling or barking at them to stay away. However if she's allowed to meet them on her own terms she can become friends and will then happily walk with them.

We have tried her with our cats, but she got a bit excited about being in the house and the cats left her too it . When one hissed and spat at her she did back off though. She would need a lot more work to be cat friendly.

Emma would appreciate a home with a garden and someone around most of the day. She will need training around food and just to manage her enthusiasm as she does jump up. She could live with older children over 12 who are used to dogs.
