Spring Tour to Cyprus

A party of 22 members and a few supporters recently returned from a bowls tour to Cyprus. Unfortunately the weather gods weren’t always looking favourably in our direction; we flew through strong turbulence to arrive in the middle of a heavy storm and, whilst locals welcomed the rain, understandably we were less enthusiastic. However, staying in a beachfront hotel near Paphos, members played 4 matches - one against a local club side and three against other touring clubs from the UK. Sadly the final match against another Cypriot club had to be cancelled due to rain. In spite of the mixed weather, most of our matches were played in sunshine and everyone enjoyed a happy mix of bowls, rest and relaxation. Particular thanks go to Karen Kennedy, who did a sterling job of organising and managing our arrangements. We’re now eagerly looking forward to arranging our 2027 tour.
