The Club

The Club was formed in 1970 and we currently have over 500 members.

We have 6 Indoor rinks open all year around, occasional food and Full Bar facilities. We also have an Outdoor Green with over 40 members open April – September.

Where are we?

The club is situated on Rushmere Road, coming from Colchester Road turn into Rushmere Road town bound and we are situated a few yards up the road on the left just before the red post box. Coming from the town, we are situated just before the Colchester Road roundabout on the right-hand side just past the red post box.

Opening Times

We are open every day from 7:30am – 10:30pm.

Bar - Open Daily.
Restaurant - occasional lunches and catered events

Types of Bowling

Junior Bowling - Juniors under 18 years old can come along every Saturday morning Sept – April between 8am – 10am for a game. No membership required.
Casual Bowling - Just turn up and have a game on an empty rink, no rink booking required.
Social Bowling - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:15am – 10:15am, Plus Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 4:30pm – 6:30pm. Enjoy a two hour game of bowls in a friendly manner, no booking required. During the winter season we also have a Thursday afternoon session from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Plus a regular number of league style bowling events including a Sunday afternoon
League Bowling - Leagues operate 7 days a week during the winter at 10:15am, 12.15pm, 2:30pm, 6:30pm & 8:30pm Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Leagues available.

Please feel free to come and view the facilities at anytime and sample the atmosphere. Beginners are welcome and we offer coaching to help you get started.

We have free Taster sessions when you can come and try the game of bowls. All ages are invited to come along and give bowls a try. We provide bowls and ask that you bring flat soled, completely clean shoes (this protects the bowling carpet surface). These run most months - please phone for dates. 01473 712601
