There are four types of matches played at the club:
1. NATIONAL AND COUNTY COMPETITIONS
2. LEAGUE AND CUP MATCHES, PLUS FRIENDLIES AGAINST OTHER CLUBS
3. INTERNAL LEAGUES WITHIN THE CLUB
4. INFORMAL GAMES ARRANGED BETWEEN CLUB MEMBERS (roll ups or social bowling)
For roll ups during the busy winter season we hold a rink booking day (known as Disc Day) normally on the second Wednesday in the month. Each member is entitled to book one rink per month for social bowling on rink booking day. Rinks are often available and you can book by phoning the office or you can just turn up and hope that a rink is free.
During the summer rink booking for social bowling is not required as the club is less busy. Bookings can be made directly onto the rink booking sheet which is situated adjacent to the secretary/manager’s office, or you can just turn up and play.
All cancellations must be initialled by the secretary/manager or a committee member. Cancellations within seven days of the booked date could incur a cost if the rink is not used.
These are displayed on the wall by the rink booking book.
For all play on the green:
Predominantly white tops (white or blouse or standard club shirt)
Grey trousers (Men)
Grey skirt or grey tailored trousers (Ladies)
Regulation smooth flat soled bowls shoes of the approved type shall be worn
For special matches and events the ‘whites’ dress code is observed
FOR BEGINNERS WE OFFER
We have qualified coaches to give you the basic tuition and advice to help you on your way. After a few minutes of basic instruction you will be ready to play. The club has bowls you can borrow and all you require is a pair of appropriate flat soled shoes or trainers.
