We held the remainder of the Club Finals last weekend. The Mixed Pairs match was the first to take place between Elaine Bennett with Dave Turner against Sheila Gentry with Graham Hillier. Sheila and Graham were on strong form and eventually beat Elaine and Dave. Graham played again in the afternoon in the Club Championship against Brian Mitchell and Graham won becoming our Club Champion. On Sunday morning, our up and coming youngster, Josh Thompson, played in the First Winners match against David Fairclough and Josh won, much to the delight of his mum, Elaine! There were two matches in the afternoon, the first of which was the 2-Wood Singles with husband and wife, Martin Ellis and Kim Francis Ellis fighting this out. It was a very closely fought match but with her final wood of the game, Kim took the jack away from Martin's two holding woods to win. Later on the Veterans, Tony Cooper and Des Morris, took to the green and in another closely fought game, Tony eventually won.

What a good weekend of bowls! Congratulations to everyone who played and many thanks to the markers and score board changers and a huge thank you to David Fairclough, our Competition Secretary, for organising it all.
