We held the remainder of the Club Finals last weekend. The First Winners match was the first to take place on the Saturday morning with Richard Ellis playing Sandra McAfee. It was a closely fought match but Sandra eventually won. The 2 Wood Singles was between Jason McAllen and Jeff Passmore and this was also a very closely fought match but Jason won in the end. The Veteran Singles took place on the Sunday morning between Sandra McAfee and Roger Williams with rain at times making play 'more interesting'. Both players played very well but Sandra had her second win of the weekend. In the afternoon, there were two matches, the Mixed Pairs between Kim Francis Ellis with Martin Ellis and Tina and David Scarborough. Kim and Martin prevailed in the end but it was a closely fought match with some very tight heads. The Club Championship was between Graham Hillier and Richard Ellis which again was an exciting match and Graham eventually came out on top.

What a good weekend of bowls! Congratulations to everyone who played and many thanks to the markers and other helpers and a huge thank you to David Fairclough, our Competition Secretary, for organising it all. Also thanks to all of you who came along to give your support.
