2023 LADIES' AND MEN’S CHAMPIONS CROWNED

Today we watched the Ladies' and Men's Finals on our green. The players were not only playing against each other but battling against the strong and blustery wind which led to some 'interesting' ends!

The Ladies' Singles started first with Sandra McAfee playing against Caroline Cuerden. It was a hard fought match between the two players but Caroline prevailed in the end to win the trophy for a second time. Congratulations to both players.

Martin Ellis and Richard Ellis (no relation) were pitted against each other in the Men's final. Richard fought hard but Martin was on song and won the match. This is Martin's fifth victory in this particular competition. Again, well done to both players.

Thanks to David Fairclough and his team of helpers for making this a successful day and to everyone who came along to support the players.
