Conditions of Hire
(If the Hirer is in any doubt as to the meaning of the following, please contact the Committee)
- The hire of the Village Hall is not confirmed until payment and deposit for the hire has been received.
- The Hirer will, during the period of hiring, be responsible for the supervision of the premises, the fabric and the contents, their care, safety from damage however slight or change of and sort and the behaviour of all persons using the premises whatever their capacity including proper supervision of car-parking arrangements so as to avoid the obstruction of the highway and residents requiring access to their adjoining properties.
- The Hirer shall not sub-let or use the premises for any unlawful purposes or any unlawful way nor for anything to bring upon the premises anything which may endanger the same or insurance policies thereof.
- The Hirer shall be responsible for obtaining licences that may be needed whether for the consumption of intoxicating liquor, the Performing Rights Society, and for the observance of the same and all other regulations appertaining to the premises stipulated by the Fire Authority, the Local Authority, the local Magistrates’ Court or otherwise.
- The Hirer shall indemnify the Committee for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part of the property including the curtilage thereof or the contents of the buildings during or as a result of the hiring.
- Cancellation: If the Hirer wishes to cancel the booking before the date of the event and the Committee is unable to conclude a replacement booking, the question of the payment or the repayment of the booking fee shall be at the discretion of the Committee
- Conclusion of Hire: the Hirer shall be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounds in a clean and tidy condition and any contents placed back in their usual positions, otherwise the Committee shall be at liberty to deduct the deposit monies.
