Useful information

How do I find the Hall?

The Hall is located in School Lane, close to the junction with the B4380.

  • From the west: driving east on B4380, School Lane is the second turning on the left after the 30mph sign (if you get to The Mill at Leighton, you’ve gone too far). Entrance to Leighton Village Hall is just beyond the “triangle” on the RHS. The car park entrance is through the black, metal gate.
  • From the east: School Lane is on the right just past the Mill at Leighton. Then similar details as above.

How do I gain access to the Hall?

  • There is a gated access to the village hall car park. This is padlocked, the code for which is provided when the booking is confirmed.
  • Access to the Hall itself. Please look for the key safe by the RHS door to the kitchen. The code for this is the same as the car park gate.

Other useful information?

  • Disabled access is via the LHS fire door, there is also a disabled toilet.
  • First aid kit, fire blanket and emergency power cut kit in kitchen, fire extinguishers in main hall, another first aid kit in Bar, defibrillator outside
  • We also have a large gazebo and an even larger marquee for hire – can be utilised either in our car park or off site by agreement.

How do I pay?

  • Payment is expected at the time the booking is made.
  • Payment should be by bank transfer to the following account: Payee: Leighton Village Hall Committee, sort code 60-21-57, account number 74189972 (please note this is a Business Account). The reference on any payment should be LVH followed by the date the hall is booked for e.g. LVH 3 Mar 2023
  • The booking is only firm once payment has been made and a confirmation email has been issued by the Village Hall, when you will be issued with the code for the car park padlock and key safe which is required to gain access.

What are the expectations for use of the Hall?

  • Please see the Conditions of Hire
  • The principal requirement is that you leave it in a condition suitable for the next user.
  • You are responsible for managing the health and safety of your event. In the unlikely event of an accident, please complete the Accident Book in the kitchen.
  • You are responsible for the reasonable behaviour of those attending the event and keeping noise levels within acceptable limits.
  • Please note that we share access with our neighbours at School House. Please therefore be respectful of their needs for access and quiet enjoyment.
  • Music in the form of disco/band etc should stop no later than 11pm
  • Council bins are by the LHS front of the Hall. Please use the relevant bins for recycling.

Any issues with the Hall?

Please let us know if there are any issues, we need to deal with e.g. supplies have run out, something isn’t working etc. There is a defects book in the kitchen for recording this.

Do I need a licence?

It is assumed by the Hall that all bookings are private in nature i.e. there is no entrance charge. However, if this is not the case, or you will have a paid bar and / or live musical entertainment or other licensable activities, then it is the booker’s responsibility to obtain the relevant licence(s).

Use of bar, catering etc

The Village Hall is unable to directly provide any support to your event, for example setting up, staffing of the bar, table service etc. If you require these services, then please indicate on the booking form what your requirements are and we will pass this on to The Mill at Leighton, who will hopefully be able to assist.
