Longhorsley Parish Council Longhorsley Parish Council

Longhorsley is a rural village in Northumberland about 7 miles northwest of Morpeth and about 14 miles south of Alnwick.  The A697 road passes through the village linking it with Morpeth, Wooler and Coldstream in Scotland.  At the time of the 2011 Census, the population of Longhorsley Parish was measured at 887 and is essentially a residential community.

The Stone Age, Iron Age and Roman artefacts found within the parish are an indication of its ancient past.

Longhorsley Parish Council meets monthly in Longhorsley Village Hall, usually on the second Wednesday of the month, with the meeting commencing at 7pm.  This is a public meeting and all are welcome to attend.

Longhorsley Parish Council has seven Councillors.  There are two working groups covering the management of the Moor and the Old Church Wood, together with a steering group formulating the Neighbourhood Plan.  The Council does not appoint any Councillor to outside bodies
