Play areas

Longhorsley Parish Council is proud to provide and maintain a number of play areas across the village, offering safe and enjoyable spaces for children and families to spend time outdoors.

Our play areas are valued community assets that encourage active play, social interaction and healthy lifestyles, while providing opportunities for children of all ages to explore and have fun.

Our play areas can be found at the following locations

  2. Adamson Park
  3. MUGA (behind the Village Hall)
  4. Wilding Place

Safety and Inspections

The safety of children using our play areas is a top priority.

All Parish Council play areas are inspected regularly throughout the year by our maintenance team, and each site undergoes an annual independent inspection by ROSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents). These inspections help ensure that equipment remains safe, well maintained and compliant with current safety standards.

Where maintenance issues are identified, the Parish Council works to address them as quickly as possible to keep the play areas in good condition for everyone to enjoy.

Dogs in Play Areas

To help maintain a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for children, dogs are not permitted within the enclosed play areas, even when kept on a lead. We ask all dog owners to respect this restriction and make use of the other suitable walking areas around the village.

Church View Play Area

In 2024, the Parish Council invested in the complete redevelopment of the play area at Church View.

Following inspections, much of the existing equipment was no longer considered suitable for continued use. The Parish Council therefore funded the installation of a brand new play area, providing modern, safe and inclusive equipment for local children and visiting families.

The new facility represents a significant investment in the village and demonstrates the Parish Council's commitment to maintaining high-quality recreational spaces for current and future generations.

Help Us Keep Our Play Areas Safe

Residents are encouraged to report any damage, vandalism or safety concerns relating to play equipment to the Parish Clerk as soon as possible. Prompt reporting helps ensure that issues can be investigated and resolved quickly. Please provide details of any concerns along with photographs to help us identify the issue quickly.
