Parish Council Meeting – Residents Welcome

St Mary’s Church, Lower Slaughter

Residents are warmly invited to attend the next meeting of Lower Slaughter Parish Council. This is an opportunity to hear updates on village projects and raise any questions during the public participation session.

Public Questions

Residents may speak for up to 3 minutes each, with 15 minutes in total allocated at the start of the meeting.

Items to be Discussed

Village Maintenance & Highways

  • Progress on repainting yellow lines

  • Road sign repair in the centre of the village

  • Updates on litter and dog waste bins

  • Repair work following the riverbank collapse

  • Reseeding the grass verge along the river

  • Installation of new “No Fishing” signs

  • Planning a village litter-picking event along Pike Lane

  • Replacement of a vandalised cherry tree

Allotments

  • Maintenance update and review of allotment renewals and vacant plots.

Flooding

  • Discussion on drainage issues and next steps with Thames Water.

Planning Applications

  • Equestrian barn at Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre

  • Installation of soil pipe at Greyholme, Copse Hill Road

  • Update on the proposed Aldi development and potential improvements to the riverside footpath.

Council Business

  • Finance update and banking changes

  • Digital and data compliance requirements

  • Proposal to purchase a council laptop for the Clerk

  • Update on the Weir Project, which now has full funding secured.

Future Meetings

  • Proposal to move council meetings from Monday evenings to Wednesday evenings from July 2026.
