Recognition for Mabe from the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall
Mabe Parish
The coronavirus emergency has made 2020 a difficult year for many, but it is likely that across the parish of Mabe there are many examples of community spirit and people giving food, support, deliveries, time and support to others who have needed a helping hand.
Mabe Emergency Group reacted quickly, mobilising volunteers with leaflet drops in the March lockdown, so that every household knew how to access support. The volunteers continued with deliveries of food and medicines, providing a central place for food and donations, pasty runs for older residents, and generally helping families and individuals.
MEGS efforts have been recognised by the Lord Lietenant of Cornwall, see photos attached, showing the card received.
The parish council's community leadership has also been appreciated, also marked by a card from the Lord Lieutenant.
