Westwood 2 Housing Development Public Consultation - 18th October Manston Village Hall
Manston Parish Council
The purpose of the exhibition is to inform and consult with local residents and stakeholders regarding development proposals for land south of Manston Court Road and East of Preston Road, known as Westwood Village 2. The proposals are being made by Rooksmead Ltd, who are the developer of Westwood Village.
Westwood Village 2 is the final phase of housing that forms part of land allocated for development as part of Policy SP20 for strategic housing sites as detailed in the Thanet District Council Local Plan adopted in 2020.
The allocation is for 1400 homes, of which, 500 are situated in Westwood Village 2 and are the subject of this consultation. The remainder are located in Westwood Village 1 where 900 homes, a new primary school, local centre and commercial village were granted outline planning permission in 2020 under planning permission OL/TH/18/0261.
Our proposals for Westwood Village 2 include 500 highly efficient new homes, a new secondary school, vital road upgrade works, creation of new public open realm including play space and walking areas for all.
The site will provide the next phase of Kent County Council’s new link road, which is part of their strategic programme of highways improvements to the wider area.
