Public Rights of Way

The Parish Council are working towards sourcing a new map which depicts the public rights of way in and around the village.

There are lot of different types of paths in the area; please find below an explanation of who can use the paths:

Footpath

Bridleway

Applies in England and Wales. Open to walkers, horse-riders and cyclists, marked with a blue arrow.

Restricted byway

Applies in England and Wales. Open to walkers, cyclists, horse-riders and horse-drawn vehicles, marked with a plum coloured arrow.

Byway open to all traffic (BOAT)

Applies in England and Wales. Open to walkers, cyclists, horse-riders, horse-drawn vehicles and motor vehicles, marked with a red arrow.

Permissive paths

Permissive paths are not rights of way but paths which an owner has given the public permission to use

The permission may be granted on a long-term basis but it can be withdrawn at any time
