Sport and Recreation
Playground
Our fantastic Adventure Play Area playground project was made possible by a hard-working group of village people raising funds and had its official opening on a gloriously sunny day on Saturday 21st June 2014. The playground has provided many welcome activities for the children.
Moulsford Cricket Club
Moulsford once had a very active cricket club. The pavilion has excellent facilities to support a team, such as showers, lockers, toilets, and benches, should a new club be formed.
Soccer (Football)
The pitch is enjoyed by many children and is well maintained. Two goal nets have been added.
Coffee Shop
Moulsford Coffee Shop monthly, 10.30-12noon at the Pavilion second Wednesday of the month. If you fancy a couple of hours of chatting, relaxing and drinking coffee or tea often with some home-made cakes, do join us, just £1 donation! Please do come along, everyone from the village is welcome. For more information contact Gary or Alison Fagg: alison.f@sky.com
The Thames River
Moulsford lies on the bank of the Thames River, offering many opportunities for canoeing, paddle boarding, boating and wild swimming. Geese, swans, ducks, kingfishers, herons and other wildlife are spotted frequently. A public slipway for launching small craft lies between the Beetle and Wedge Boat House and Beetle and Wedge House, next to a large willow tree.
Public moorings for larger craft are few, as most are owned by residents. Boating maintenance, spare parts supply, and safety equipment can be carried out at Sheridan Marine which is located next to the church.
The Thames Path
The Thames path passes through Moulsford from Streatley to Cholsey. Many walkers and hikers use this path. It leaves the river at the Beetle and Wedge Boat House on to Ferry Lane and northward along the A329 (The Street). The path rejoins the river through an access north of the Moulsford Prep school.
