We would like to encourage all affected residents to comment on the current informal consultation to introduce parking restrictions in the area of Church Lane, Hasted Road and Denham Road.

The deadline for feedback is 21 July 2026 and we recommend that comments are submitted both to technical@fernham-homes.co.uk and to kcchighwayconsultations@kent.gov.uk.

We are aware that some affected residents have had notices posted through their letterboxes. The Parish Council received notice on Monday 29 June 2026, with the following message:

“Following consultations with KCC Highways in respect of road improvement works at Church Lane, Hasted Road and Denham Road at Newington in Kent, please find enclosed the proposals for new Double Yellow Line parking restrictions. The works are proposed to commence this Summer and complete by the end of this year (2026).

Should you have any comments, queries, supporting statements or objects, please can you ensure these reach us by no later than Tuesday 21st July 2026.”

Please note that this only forms the informal consultation (engagement) stage of the process, we have had confirmation from KCC that:

“prior to any application being submitted for a Traffic Regulation Order, the applicant would be expected to undertake informal engagement with local residents and the Parish Council. Should a TRO application then be made, it would be subject to the formal statutory process, including consultation with relevant stakeholders and formal advertisement in the local press. As part of this process, any interested party would have the opportunity to submit comments, representations, or objections for consideration.”
