'I thought I would get in touch with you to provide an update leaflet which is being distributed to Newington residents today and early next week.This is attached and sets out an update regarding the access/S278 works which is to commence along London Road next week.
'Equally so, we have now contracted with Moat on the affordable provision as set out therein.
'Importantly, the leaflet addresses proposals we have for the north-west corner of the site to provide 10 supplementary homes (in addition to those approved and being built out).This latest proposal has been discussed with officers at Swale BC and has been accepted in principle in view of the government’s drive for more efficient and effective use of sites particularly those in relative proximity to train stations - you may have heard the recent news articles on this including amendments to national policy. I hope the leaflet provides the appropriate information in this regard, but should you or the Parish Council wish to discuss in more detail, we would be happy to accommodate this.'
