2026 News

JARVIS CUP AND HARVEY CUP

Once again the annual match for the Jarvis Cup and Harvey Cup was held between North Mymms, Potters Bar and Northaw & Cuffley. It was a warm sunny afternoon (22nd August) played on excellent greens. As is the tradition the winner each year is the host for the following year and so North Mymms hosted the Harvey Cup Match and Northaw and Cuffley the Jarvis Cup match. Each Club fields 4 rinks of men and 4 of Ladies.

This year Potters Bar men won the Jarvis Cup by a whisker from North Mymms and Northaw & Cuffley took the honours and the Harvey Cup for the Ladies.

Matches were great fun and with spirited competition followed by a meal at the host clubs. A great afternoon.

FIXED JACK DAY

Yet another hot and sunny day for the Fixed Jack Competition on the Sunday 28th July. Perfect weather weather with eight teams of three taking part. Three teams tied with the top score of 105 points but after much deliberation the Winners were declared to be Diann, Eileen and Dennis and Joyce. (Dennis and Joyce played half a game each). The other two teams were Peter Stokes, Roy Matthews, David Slade and Pam Bond, Sue Beattie, Anne Slade.

Well done to all who took part and thank you to our Competition Secretary, Ken Norris, for organising it.

Fixed Jack Winners 2026

AUSTRALIAN PAIRS

After two weeks of cloud and rain the 13th June dawned with a warm and breezy day ideal for our Australian Pairs competition, ideal bowling weather. And so 12 pairs of bowlers turned up for the day led by the Competition Secretary, Ken Norris, with lunchtime refreshment and afternoon cakes provided by Irene O'Brien and Val Donovan, with Alex Donovan on bar duty. Thank you to all of them for their support.

It was a great day. Lots of fun and a lively competition on an excellent green. Our well deserved winners this year were Karen King and June Redgrove.
