With the timely return of the sun, the village came together around the Red House grounds for a feast of not only food and drink but music and activities too.

The bowls club did their bit with a stall including an excellent Tombola, with prizes donated by members, book and puzzle sales, a name the Elephant draw and the sale of some tasty cakes.

We also had the green available for villagers and visitors to have a go at bowls. After a slow start we were inundated with people of all ages learning the basics and challenging themselves with the target bowls activites on the green.

Many thanks go to the great team from the club, consisting of Alison, Chris M, Deanne, Lynn, Roy, Dave M, Chris D plus Steve and Jane Wiltshire.

We raised almost £300 for club funds and are hopeful that several 'have-a-goers' will be back on Friday evenings to further their experience of our great game.
