RBC Code Of Conduct

Redbourn Bowls Club (RBC) is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and all those associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the appropriate Club Officers. As a member of RBC, you are expected to abide by the following code:

- Comply with the Safeguarding Policies and Guidelines as approved by Bowls England.

- All members should abide by the accepted etiquette of the sport.

- Bullying of any sort will not be tolerated.

- All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, disability, race, cultural background, religious beliefs or sexual identity.

- All members must respect officials and publicly accept their decisions.

- No photography is allowed without prior consent.

- All members should be a positive role model, treat other players and officials with the same level of respect you would expect to be shown to you.

- Do not use foul, abusive, threatening or discriminatory language or gestures.

- Do not smoke (including electronic devices), use a mobile phone or other media on the bowling green or be unfit through the use of drugs or alcohol.

- Do not condone or allow to go unchallenged any form of discrimination or prejudice.

- Encourage everyone to enjoy the sport and understand that people have different motivations for taking part.

Any allegation of inappropriate conduct shall be reported to the Club Secretary in writing. The Committee must decide within a reasonable period of time on the action, if any, to be taken. Where an investigation is called for, it shall be conducted by persons appointed by the Committee and the person subject to the allegation shall have the right of reply. The decision of the Committee will be final
