πŸŒΏπŸ† Best Kept Village Competition 2026 – CPRE Judging Areas πŸ†πŸŒΏ

Exciting times ahead! As villages across the region prepare for the 2026 competition, here’s what our judges will be looking out for:

Hedges, trees, walls, fences, banks & roadside verges – well-maintained boundaries and greenery.

Residential gardens, outbuildings & allotments – tidy, cared-for spaces.

Public playing fields – including clubhouses and pavilions.
Village greens & public open spaces – welcoming, clean, and accessible.

Footpaths, rights of way, ponds & streams – natural beauty and upkeep.

Village/community halls – including church, scout/guide halls, and other community buildings.

School surrounds & playing fields – safe and well-kept areas.

Church exteriors & surroundings – including burial grounds, memorial gardens & war memorials.

Shops, offices, workshops, pubs & garages – overall appearance and maintenance.

Bus shelters, telephone kiosks & public notice-boards – cleanliness and up-to-date information.

Advertising displays – relevance, restraint & absence of fly-posting.

Village maps – quality, scale & helpfulness in guiding judges.

Community spirit & website – showing pride, engagement, and local initiatives.

Conservation & wildlife areas – appearance and care for nature.

Let’s make our village shine in 2026! ✨🌸
