The Budget
The Parish Council is funded mostly from an annual local tax called a precept, which is collected on its behalf by South Oxfordshire District Council. It can also raise funds through grants from other organisations and from facility hire charges for sports pitches and allotments.
The Parish Council has used windfall income from easements payments to subsidise the precept in previous years, and the general reserves became low as a result. The majority of the money held is Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding earmarked for infrastructure works as a result of development, and cannot be used for operating income. The budget is for operational spending and does not include large projects which will require external funding sources. A budget has been approved for 2024/25 that includes any known increases in operational costs.
