NEWS

As per a tradition held since 1957, the Sutton Valence Parish Council participated in the annual Rose Ceremony. This ceremony, held on Midsummer Day each year, illustrates the ongoing strong partnership and connection between Sutton Valence School and Sutton Valence Parish Council.

Representing the parish council, Cllr Mel Flint performed the duty of presenting Sutton Valence School Headmaster, James Thomas, with a single red rose, as symbolic rent for the 99-year lease of the village green.

NEWS

On Tuesday 3rd June 2025, Sutton Valence Parish Council welcomed parishioners and organisations to the Annual Parish Assembly.

The format was different to previous years where SVPC opted for a "tabletop exhibition" style to encourage dialogue and engagement, as opposed to the speech-led assemblies of previous years.

SVPC were delighted at the turnout for this new style of assembly and the feedback we have received has been excellent. It is anticipated that this will be the preferred format for future events.

We would like to give our sincerest thanks to the following organisations for their participation in making the event a success;

Barchester Healthcare

Kent County Council

Patient Participation Group (Sutton Valence Group Practice)

Queens Head Oddfellows Fund (QHOF)

Royal British Legion

St Mary's Church

Sutton Valence School

The Sutton Valence Gardeners Association

The Sutton Valence Music Society

The Sutton Valence Women's Institute

The Sutton Valence Village Hall Committee
