Kent County Council gives notice that Stickfast Lane, Ulcombe will be closed to through traffic, on 10th July 2026 for up to 5 days.

The road will be closed outside Little Ulcombe.

The alternative route is via Stickfast Lane, East Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Mill Bank, Kings Road, Ulcombe Road, Tilden Road, Stickfast Lane, and reverse.

This closure is necessary to repair a comm pipe in edge of carriageway and verge, to be carried out by South East Water.

This Notice applies when the relevant signs and barriers are on site and is valid for a period of no more than 21 days.

Kent County Council will be carrying out patching repair work to the carriageway of A274 Headcorn Road, Sutton Valence between junctions with New Barn Road and Headcorn Bowls Club.

These road surface improvement works are programmed to start on the 03/08/2026 and should take 1 Night to complete. These activities will be undertaken during a working window between the hours of 1900 and 0500.

During these essential works it will be necessary to close the road completely so that KCC can carry out the works safely for both the workforce and road users. During this closure, a signed diversion route will be in place during the closure via A274 Headcorn Road, Sutton Valence Hill, North Street, Maidstone Road, Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, Linton Road, Linton Hill, Staplehurst Road, Maidstone Road, Station Road, High Street Staplehurst, Cranbrook Road, Knoxbridge, Rocks Hill, Camden Hill, The Common, Wilsley Pound, roundabout, A264 Sissinghurst Road, The Street, Biddenden Road, Sissinghurst Road, High Street, Biddenden, Tenterden Road, North Street, A274 Headcorn Road, Wheeler Street, Station Road, High Street, North Street, Mill Bank and Maidstone Road
