Foundation

Chair: Nick Burridge

The Rotary Foundation is the not-for-profit organisation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs.

It is supported by voluntary contributions from Rotarians, friends of the foundation and charitable donations from the general public who share its vision of a better world both at home and overseas. We are especially dedicated to ending polio and our members have persevered in this fight since 1979. Funds raised are generally used to finance long term sustainable projects in the following six areas:

• Promoting peace
• Fighting disease
• Providing clean water
• Saving mothers and children
• Supporting education
• Growing local economies

The Rotary Club of Hertford Shires have been involved in two major projects with the help of Foundation and these were one to provide a community mini bus in Africa and the other was the Sand Dams project.
